Tasting Note: Rugiens is for many the archetypal vineyard of Pommard and is currently being considered to be upgraded to Grand Cru status. The 2017 is textbook with smoky red and black fruits, dried orange peel, fine spices and earth. The palate is hugely concentrated and multidimensional. Firm velvety tannins caress the palate and lead to a long firm finish. Drink 2025-2050. Food Pairing: Such special wine deserves a special dish. Roast goose or côte de boeuf would do nicely!
